Interview with Dan Parsels by Janee

    To make this even more personal we did not edit any of the grammer or punctuation of this interview what so ever!  Sit back, have a few laughs and enjoy getting to know Dan Parsels and the Primadonnaz!

Janee:  For those people out there who haven't a clue who you are or why I am interviewing you, please state your name, band and position.

Dan:  im dan parsels from the primadonnaz, phillys most over the top, ORIGINAL rock n roll band today, i am the lone guitarist

J:  When did you start playing guitar? Why did you take up the instrument?

Dan:  when i was a young kid gutiar always appealed to me, i had toy guitar after toy guitar and fake band after fake band.. my cousin and i would play kiss on the radio and rock out and pretended we had our own band...i feel power when i hold a guitar , theres a psychology answer for you...
 

J:  What were some of your previous bands, and what type of music did you play with each of them?

Dan:  a previous band i was in was called injection i wrote 95% of the songs so it wasnt too much different than the band im in now...maybe not as heavy and it had two guitar players so it kinda reminded me of ratt n GnR stuff we even play a song or two i wrote for that band "i dont even care" and "nothin to lose".... but i was the only glam rocker in the band, they
werent seeing my vision, they wanted to be a cover band really and try that route to make it...but to me thats selling out, i have no interest in playing other peoples songs all the time... not very creative....everyone in the band thought the name "injection" was too "cock-rock"... but sure enough a year or so later a band called "injectED"
had made it... im always one step ahead of the rest... ...

J:  Describe the first show you played.

Dan:  first show i ever played was a big blur, it was one song, i had so much adrenaline in me i could barely see, i played "anarchy in the UK" at my friends Harley shop...i was about 15... with a semi-pro-band id describe it as  empty, and the first show w/ the primadonnaz, id say there was
instant chemistry... we opend for one of my favorite bands TUFF, i was like 19, i was so excited to be there and very innocent... it was a fuckin blast...
 

J:  How did the Primadonnaz begin?
Dan:  Mike put the band together w/ a few other guys... they recoreded a killer cd called "GLAMZ BACK" featuring a song we play called "king of the drag queens"... eventualy the other guys didnt work out... so he found me and i found rikki and bobby... and we r still rockin about 3 years later

J:  Describe the band's sound in one word.
Dan:  SEX
 

J: Who/What do you look to for inspiration?

Dan:  im influenced by bands like kiss, motley crue, and ratt... and other then those innovated bands that move me w/ there music every time i fuckin hear the first note on a cd... i get insperation from my experiances w/ women... i live for women, fuck everything else

J:  If you could switch bodies with one of your bandmates for ONE show only, who would it be and why?

Dan:  bobby b/c he sits behind the drums i see what mike and rikki see... so i gotta go for a different view....

J: What are some of the Primadonnaz plans for the rest of 2004?

Dan:  well, we just played w/ ORGY, the WILDHEARTS and SEBASTIAN BACH in our home town... we play on continuing, pushing ourselves, musically and personally, we plan on recording a killer CD that if we dont get signed w/ people will be talking about a very unforgetable underground CD for a long time...and with the primadonnaz we ALWAYS back up our word and
"never come up short" as mikey once said....

J:  Describe each of your bandmates in one word.
Dan:  bobby- animated
rikki-talented
mikey- rocker

J:  What's your favorite song to play live? least favorite? 12. Why do you feel everyone should come check out your band?

Dan:  my favorite songs to play are the ones that i can let out all my emotions w/... all my blood, sweat, and tears...the one with the word that move me... "you come and go like the seasons, you runaway you've got your reasons"....i didnt right the line, but it literally gave me chills just
writing it, b/c its so personal too me... its real... i feel it in my soul....i identify with all of our songs, our songs are our lives... from "teenage lover"  to "idolize" which is all about refusing to buying into the mainstream just b/c its cool....... i identify with them all....really,  just because its popular now doesnt mean that its automatically cool... just b/c the DJ's and really who it is is record companies, that tell people stuff is cool just to make money..... really
isnt cool......this dance rap bullshit has got to go.. its popular yeah, but not cool, i want to see bands, real people making real music... most of the music out now is all about being fake..."bitches and bling"....rock n roll is all about being YOURSELF, THINKING FOR YOURSELF....and standing up for what u believe in no matter if its popular w/ the people
around you, whatever the case may be.... "profiles in courge" i admire people like that, president john f. kennedy believed that, and thats why he died the way he did...

J: When were you born?

Dan: 7-14-81

J: Where did you grow up?

Dan:  south jersey

J: What was the first concert you attended?
Dan:  first real concert was KISS at the reunion tour opening night at madison square garden... i saw them in 95 at the touring "KISS KONVETION" playing unplugged b4 that.... i just
saw them this summer and they are still the greatest

J:  If you weren't in a band, what would you be doing?
Dan: being very depressed... i cant live w/out playing in a band

J:  What was your worst day job ever?
Dan: electrician.... not that its that bad, but its the one one if had

J:  If I were to steal your discman from you at this very moment, what CD would I find in it?
Dan: RATT N ROLL 8191.."nobody rides for free"

J:  If you were told the world was going to end in 10 hours and everyone would be dead after that, how would you spend your final hours?
Dan:  as gay as it sounds i wouldn't get drunk, find a hot chick and have my way with her... id go to the church immediately....haha, fuck that, ....honestly id just say goodbye to the people i love, then have a drink

Sex position? anything that pleases my woman, anything feels good to me
Quote? as stephen pearcy once said about RATT the PRIMADONNAZ are all about the same thing: "RATT is all about attitude, looking as good as you possiblely can, and sounding even better"

J:  What's the wildest thing you've ever done?
Dan: buy the book

Dan:  im really honest most of the time.. i AM one big shock so if u

Dan: boxers, or nothing... usually when i play my pants are too tight too wear anything.. boxer dont really go w/ vinyl...sometime i wear fishnet stocking tho... not shocked tho are you?

thanks to all the people that enjoy the primadonnaz music... and come out to our showz.... its only gonna get better.. our shows our like old school GnR shows great rock n roll music w/ the unpredictable aspect of a punk rock show... dont forget being a PRIMADONNA is not just being in a band and playing music... im a primadonna 24-7... rock n roll is a way of life and lifestyle... but everyone can be a primadonna... like paul stanley said "it aint a crime to be good to yourself" and thats what its all about!!!...and as mikey always says "stay glam!!!" and as i always say "fuck it!"
