Time: 1:05 a.m.
Place: Home
Current Hometown: San Jose, CA
Back in October I had the great pleasure of meeting Adam Albright, guitarist of BT5 (Sebastian Bach's new solo band). You may remember him, if you read the Sebastian Bach interview.
I had the opportunity to catch up with Adam in an e-mail. Not only is he an awesome guitarist but he's a pretty cool guy in a very freakish way! He's the typical "Bad Ass" rocker. I definitely see him giving Sebastian a run for his money in that department!
I began the interview with some general questions to let everyone get to know him just a little bit better! Grab a drink, sit back and check out what Adam has to say about himself and BT5!
Full Name? Adam Albright
Date of Birth? 2/5/71
Where are you from? Born in Long Beach CA moved to FL when I was 10
How old were you when you first picked up a guitar? What was the feeling like? When did you decide that you wanted to be a musician? I was 13. Like sex the first time I loved it but didn't know what the fuck was going on !! I saw Ace Frehley on the dynasty tour and was like wow , then I saw the video for Looks that kill ( MOTLEY CRUE ) and was like that's it I'm doin' that. I went and pushed my mom's lawn mower thru the neighborhood and got enough money to buy a guitar !!

You are an awesome showman on stage. Full of energy that doesn't stop. Where does all that energy come from and is there any preparation for the shows?Thank you !!! I'm so fuckin' hyper I bounce off the walls all day, maybe my mom dropped me on my head. But I stretch smoke a lot and try to get into that space where I kinda black out a bit, you know. I don't drink before shows but I'm intoxicated in my mind ..
Which do you prefer, the writing process or performing live? Why? Oh live no doubt , that's just it. Its loud , the energy , the people when you play and people are singing or just gettin' off you cant stop that shit its fucking awesome !! Writing is kinda thinking time and that's cool too but I WANNA ROCK !!!!!
How did you hook up with Sebastian Bach? I sent a CD to him with 2 songs on it. He called me up one Saturday and said "Hey this [is] Sebastian Bach," and I was like "man its too fuckin' early for this," and hung up. He called back and was all "dude I'm tellin' ya its me," and starts singing "Ricky was a young boy." I was all oh shit this might be the guy! I asked the time where he was and he told me 3 hours later than mine and I started thinking what if and my battery in my cell died. Luckily he called back. I got his number, called [him] back. We talked. I flew out to Jersey, drank wine, played music and found a new home !!!!!
What was your first reaction when Sebastian contacted you about being a part of the new band? Total disbelief. I mean till I opened the door and gave him a hug I was like somebody is fuckin' playin' games. Shit, I got no hair and am going to jam with fuckin' Sebastian Bach. You know that fuckers just bad ass! I always had trouble finding that singer and to get to play and write music with Sebastian is just fucking amazing !!!!
You just finished your first mini tour with BT5, how was that? Too short, but learned a lot and met some cool people .
Were there any highlights or disappointments on this past tour? Highlights Detroit and where ever I lit all the fire works Wantagh, NY I think that place was crazy!!!!!!! Disapointments 12 string being outta tune for "I Remember You" ......sorry!!
What was your feeling when it was decided that the song you wrote, "Angel Down" would be the opening song for the tour? Just fucking cool you know !! I woke up one morning to him whistling that and that put a pretty big smile on my face ! Then he said that song is the fucking opener. What can I say, that's cool !!
What was it like to be on the same bill with Twisted Sister and Alice Cooper?
Cool as fuck !!! To talk shit with those guys and see
them play every night fuck those guys put it down !!!!! Childhood dream !!!
What is it like to be in a band with Sebastian Bach as your front man? Strange. Fuck it's like winning the lottery. I mean really who is better at what he does?? Nobody!!!!
On this past tour, the new material performed included, "Always and Never the Same," "Beyond the Law," and "Angel Down." What can you tell me about these songs? I can tell you I love to play the new songs !!!! I really like "Rip You Away" which is new. The songs are heavy and have good melody to them different tempos to all the songs which is cool not all the same shit ...
How would you describe the music of BT5 to someone that did not attend the 2003 mini tour? Nu metal/ funk/ punk /reggae nah I'm playin'. Fuck I don't know...just good solid rock n' roll man !! Makes you move and makes you wanna fuck !!!

Since Sebastian is currently filming Gilmore Girls, what's keeping you busy? I'm filming a porn called the GET MORE GIRLS its about these midget hookers from Beverly Hills ....
Back in October, during a Sebastian Bach interview, you had stated the new CD would be released in spring of 2004, does that time period still stand? Um...did I say that ?? We are going to start in January so that's what the plan is...what is the last day of spring ??
Will the songs that were introduced on this past tour be on the new CD? I don't know. By the time we get all the songs in order you know, we'll have some new ones we want to do, so we'll have to see. I think we did 5 new ones on the tour but we are going to get a lot of songs together and then we'll weed through them...pick the best and go .
Will BT5 be a part of the DVD, Forever Wild, set to release May 4, 2004, in the US? Nah! Bam Bam is on there, but no me Randy and Cheese. There is some good shit on that thing though!!!
Can we expect to see BT5 back on the road in 2004? Fuck, I hope so! I'm pretty sure a full on tour after the CD comes out. That's the plan ..
In one word describe the music of BT5. Passive Satanic (That's two words, but rules don't seem to apply to Adam, so we'll let it slide! =)
