November 26, 2004~It's always fun to visit The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ.  Not only is is a piece of music history, but it's an awesome venue to see a show at.  The stage isn't too high nor too low.  You never have to deal with a barricade and the staff is rather pleasant.

    This was my first time seeing Bret Michaels solo performance.  From the start, I had a feeling I was not going to be sorry.  It was almost 10:30 p.m. and Bret was making his way towards the stage.  Over the speakers you heard one of the greatest songs, "Shook Me All Night" by AC/DC followed by "Welcome To The Jungle" by Guns N' Roses. Can you say the 80's are back? "Welcome To The Jungle" ended and Bret hit the stage raring to go.  Full of energy and in all his 80's glam with a cowboy hat.  The most perfect Bret Michaels image you can possibly ask for.

    The blue eyed front man was completely full of energy through the whole set making eye contact with familiar faces, pointing to those that also accessorized with cowboy hats and talking to the audience as if he knew them all. It was just a big ol' 80's bash with some new Bret Michael solo music.  Everyone was jumping up and down, dancing in their spots and having a good time.  Bret did some of the greatest hits from Poison as long as new hits from his upcoming album and some hits from his previous solo album. At the end of the show he announced that once the show was over he was buying everyone in the place a Beer for always making the New Jersey shows KICK ASS! 

    The set was over, he thanked everyone for always coming out.  As Bret made his way off the stage, the audience made their way to the bar for their Beer on Bret.  An amazing show and party.  You can bet your sweet asses, I'll be at the next local show!
