THE SHOWDOWN- TEMPTATION COME MY WAY RECORD LABEL- MONO VS. STEREO RELEASE DATE- FEBRUARY 20, 2007 WEBSITE- www.theshowdownmetal.com MYSPACE- www.myspace.com/theshowdown By- Kristin The Showdown come at ya with "Temptation Come My Way" their sophomore release thru Mono Vs. Stereo. As soon as I heard the first song "Fanatics and Whore's" I was hooked. The Showdown say they want to kick the little "emo" boy bands across the yard and bring back the bad boys of rock and roll. I don't remember the last time I heard a CD where I listened to it straight thru one sitting. Of course they remind me of all the countless a.m. hours I spent up watching the legendary "Head Bangers Ball" until my eye's were rolling in my head. The songs are written from their lifestyles and the motto basically saying you never know when your going to go... so live it the fuck up! "Shows are all about power, fire, oil, rocks and heavy" claims bass player Eric Koruschak. "Breath of The Swamp" clanged my heart with it's beating cow bell and Ratt like riffs. Showdown delivers where it counts with their heavy music and grunts and growls are in the right spots! The Truth hurts and honesty is where it's at, as you can tell from the bands gut felt lyrics on this particular album. Being such a three dimensional live show has earned them places on tour with bands like Flyleaf, Emery, It Dies Today and Norma Jean. You can hear how each track pays homage to the great 80's metal Gods and with the chanted chorus' in others. This is a great CD to relive old memories or to even create new ones with. Adding a live show to your belt is recommended and I would go do this myself but they don't even come remotely close to this Jersey gal. But... for all of you that do get to get out and catch it live I want you to drink one for me and maybe pick me up a cool band girlie shirt...I need to represent! 1. Fanatics and Whores 2. Heads Down 3. Six Feet Under 4. We Die Young 5. Breath Of The Swamp 6. It Drinks From Me 7. Temptation Come My Way 8. Forget My NAme 9. Spitting In The Wind 10. I, Victim (Here's To The Year) 11.
