When people hear the name "Fantasia Barrino" they immediately think of where they all met her...on "American Idol," the third season. Some argue that she is the brightest star to shine from that competitive hell that she trudged thru week after week. Not only did this single mom win, she carved out a nice niche in her career with her first release "Free Yourself." The truly down to earth star has gathered nominations for awards from every corner of the entertainment industry. The list of contributors to this album are some really hot artists like Missy E, and Big Boi from Outcast. Fantasia started off the year 2006 with a bang, taking up her first acting gig of her own life story on Lifetime television. Over 19 million viewers during it's run over an August weekend, it was the second most watched film EVER on Lifetime. She said that making that movie has helped her lift this huge weight off her shoulders and allowed her to let go of many painful things from the past and to move forward in a positive light. Some people like myself can't see to do that and tend to hold grudges...it's just not healthy. "Fantasia" was one of the most anticipated releases of 2006, and the single "Hood Boy" was slated as the first single featuring Big Boi. Written by Johnta Austin this track was the #3 most added song at Urban Mainstream radio. In December Fantasia launched a major Yahoo music promotion around "Hood Boy." Missy Elliott co-wrote and produced Two Weeks Notice, TurnThis Party Up, and No Stoppin. The song that means the most to Fantasia on this album is "I Feel Beautiful," it's a song for her mother. Being on a whole new level metally allows for the massive amounts of creativity this special girl has. Liberated and free spirited seems to fall right onto this level complimenting all of these tracks equally. Life ain't like a fairytale but she's living proof that dreams do come true. Fantasia will continue to climb to the top in 2007 I am sure with the love and support from her family, friends and fans. Fantasia is fully aware and proud of her growing success and is nervous and excited at the same time.This girl will win your heart over in a flash!
