Ekotrens self titled debut "The Tables Have Turned" has seven tracks of bone crushing sound. Back in 2002 Palm Beach Florida spewed forth 5 guys who are working hard as hell to get their name out there. They quickly grew bored of listening to the mundane melodies bands were producing and decided to put the passion back into metal. To be honest I remember there was a lot of lame shit being thrown around at then but as time progressed they put their name on the map without the usual help from a record label. They were determined and it's finally starting to pay off.
The "Warp Tour" stop in Orlando embraced Ekotren and helped to pass on the madness. They have also strived to get their positive life message to seep thru their melody driven songs. Ekotren's songs boast with brutal themes and is fresh sounding recordings. "The Light" is the very first music video for the band and you can head over to their website to check it out. There is also a clip from a show with "Skindred" at the Ricochet. I wonder how Benji and Mikey are doing...I assume well. (they were one of my first interviews) Those guys were great!
A tour of the US is in the very near future for Ekotren so you metal lovers better get off your asses and check this shit out. No regrets will be had by anyone who is brave enough to taste the raw energy projected upon us. The song "Become" just made me visualize these guys onstage with the crowds fists pump to their hellacious beats- the drums here are crazy... you can thank Eric Pottle for that. Florida was rocked to ruins by these guys and and soon the rest of the world will follow. These boys march to no one's drum but their own and refuse to compromise-would you?
