I thought the only thing Orlando Florida had to offer us was Disney World,
but I was wrong. "5 Minute Plan" came along and now can be added to the thrills
section. "Familiarity Breeds Contempt" is full of dead on trendy tunes that I
must admit can have an effect on all those young gals out there but not I. I
love the music I think it's great but I bet they got signed when Emo was in
demand the lead singers voice is dripping with that sensitive guy whiney crap.
What's that old saying " Women can fake orgasms but Men can fake whole
relationships"
Seriously though Some people can stomach Emo and some can't, I am somewhere
in between the two. "5 Minute Plan" cite Gene Simmons as a huge influence and I
can respect that, I love kiss...I have Gene's face tattooed on my hip for Christ
sake. "Familiarity Breeds Contempt" is the boys fourth album to date and their
goal was to write something original, something important. Their songs deal with
issues such as moral question, drug abuse, growing up... among many others. They
didn't want to have songs fixated on the famous- girl problems!
Wanting to make music that matters is what these guys aim for now and in
the future. "5 Minute Plan" basically stands for "live for the moment, stop
wasting your time and your life on such petty little nuisances." Be yourself no
matter what. The Pop songs here are very inspirational and influential. There
aren't a lot of bands out there today that can stake that claim. Bubblegum Pop
with swirls of emo and rock seems to be the flavor here and a younger market
will want to try a taste, so you'll either love it or hate it. It's now your
decision to choose.
